Today I woke up craving an English breakfast.
I know, I know. Fry-ups are totally unhealthy and very against my 2016 healthy eating goal. I really wanted eggs though. And bacon…I really felt like eating bacon. It doesn’t help that my fella is as much of a food lover as I am (can I blame it on him please??).
Anyway, we finally managed to roll out of bed and head to town with our friend. The sun was out so I took a few shots in the Lanes, one of my favourite places in Brighton. Continue reading
I’m an Instagram addict.
Although I use other forms of social media, Instagram is by far my favourite. In fact it’s the first app I check every morning and the last I check before going to bed. I’m not an Instagram pro and I don’t have a theme (I know it’s become quite trendy to have a theme on Instagram like all whiter photos, etc.) but I love it.
I follow a lot of accounts (when I say a lot, I mean A LOT) for different reasons. All of them inspire me in some way: some of them give me travel inspiration, some of them give me recipe ideas and some of them are just plain pretty. As 2015 has come to an end, I thought it would be good to share with you the ones I visited religiously during 2015. Trust me, some of these will make your day.
So, in no particular order, these were my favourite Instagram accounts of 2015:
Four months…WOW! Yes, I’ve been MIA for a long time now but the truth is I just wasn’t inclined to blog. Don’t get me wrong, I still love it and I did miss it but I just wasn’t inspired (I guess that’s what they call bloggers block, huh?). I had a lot going on and to be totally honest it felt good not to worry about the blog all the time. I stopped looking at my stats (which totally dropped by the way) and decided to take a break from it all.
Yesterday I decided to spend the day in London and try out a cafe I’ve heard very good things about – the Greenberry Cafe, right in the heart of Primrose hill. I have to say I wasn’t disappointed and even though we had to walk for what seemed like an eternity in the rain (it was more like 15 minutes but it seemed like so much more I swear) it was worth it.
First things first, when we got to London the sun was shining and (of course) we couldn’t resist taking some cliche pictures, even though I’ve been to London a billion times. London is always London though and you know how much I love photos.
I know for most of you it’s probably been summer for a while but for us here in Brighton it’s been more like spring/fall with a dash of summer now and then. However, I am going on holidays in a week and a half (can’t wait!!) so I’ve put together my reading wishlist *.*
Now even though I imagine myself chilling in the shade going through all these books I probably won’t get to read all of them as I’m going to Cape Verde and have a lot of catching up with friends and family to do. However I rather take more than not have enough to keep me going. Also – I love making lists!
About 4 years ago I moved to Brighton to do my Masters at Sussex University. Fast forward almost two years and I’m still here, working and living by the sea. There have been times when I’ve thought Brighton is too small and I needed to explore somewhere new but the truth is Brighton has a special little place in my heart. I don’t plan on staying here forever but when I leave I’m going to miss it – and this is why:
If there is one thing I love doing when I have some free time it’s watching TED talks. If you’re looking to get inspired, motivated or need to relax for a bit then get a nice cup of tea, sit back and watch a TED talk. I promise you will not regret it! They are simply inspirational and some of them are mind-blowing. If you haven’t heard of Ted Talks – they are a set of global conferences founded in 1984. They started off focusing mainly on technology and design but have since broadened to almost all subjects – from education to slavery, it is all about “ideas worth spreading”.
If you have never watched a Ted Talk then you MUST watch at least one NOW.
To make it a bit easier (as there are so many to choose from!) I’ve made a list of some of my favourites – get ready to listen to some awesome people. In no particular order:
With a blink of an eye May has ended and it’s time for me to share with you what my favourites have been. As I’ve mentioned before I’m really trying not to spend too much (until summer shopping spree which is coming soon!) so I haven’t bought anything major. However, I did fall in love with a few things!
Hope all of you have been having an amazing week! The weather has been really temperamental here in Brighton – we got a few days of sun and then a couple of rainy days…I just can’t wait for summer! Well…”summer” (England!). Anyway, this is what has made me smile this week:
