I think it’s about time I speak about another woman I admire. It’s been a while since I did that, right?
So, why Mindy? First, she has a way of inspiring people to look at life with humour. I mean, who doesn’t love her? She is hilarious! And second, she is full of lessons that will inspire anyone.
I have to admit I have only just started watching “The Mindy Project” properly. I know, embarrassing. The truth is I’d watched a few episodes here and there and always found it great but only a few months ago did I actually decide to download it (legally, of course).
Obviously, I am now obsessed.
I think it’s safe to say I love anything that involves cake, tarts, muffins or anything sweet. Well today I decided to try out Terre a Terre’s afternoon tea with the lovely Jordan from Just Jawwie.
The one thing that beats having afternoon tea is having afternoon tea with a fellow blogger! That awkward feeling you might get when taking loads of pictures in a cafe simply vanishes when there’s two of you doing it! Thank you Jordan *.*
So, Terre a Terre – it was created in 1993 and is now one of the most successful vegetarian restaurants in the UK. It’s very welcoming and cozy and besides their delicious meals and tea they offer a full range of products you can buy like jams, nibbles, chutneys, etc.
We’ve been really wanting to enjoy every last bit of sunshine as winter is just around the corner. It seems like Autumn is almost in full force (still no leaves covering the pavements, but the temperatures have fallen and autumn jackets are definitely out) and from there it’s a slippery slope to winter.
To enjoy what could be our last few weeks of proper sunshine, we went to Devil’s Dyke in the South Downs. I have to stay I was amazed at all the stunning views. And that smell! You know, that fresh nature smell that you don’t get in the city – gorgeous.
When you think of a picnic you probably think of going sometime around lunchtime and spending a nice day out in the sun, am I right? Well not Kimberly and I. We decided to go for a picnic after work (which for us means 5pm). It sounded like a great idea at the time but we completely forgot to consider that it is not summer anymore which means a) it’s getting dark much earlier and b) the temperatures drop c.o.n.s.i.d.e.r.a.b.l.y in the evenings.
The good thing is that when we’re together we manage to transform any situation into an awesome experience. Any sane person would have gotten up and left. Again, not us. We had so much fun and laughed our hats off with the situation! Give up and go home? never!
As hard as it may be for me I have to admit that summer is coming to an end. Don’t get me wrong, I love autumn and its falling leaves and I’m almost in full autumn mode (almost – summer is still on my mind).
As a result of that, I want to share with you what I’ve been listening to lately. As I work in an office all day I like to listen to a more chilled out playlist – not too crazy but just the right amount of beat to keep me going.
It’s been ages since I’ve actually posted something here in my little corner and I feel like such a terrible blogger! I am profoundly sorry but I am back and had a great time catching up on all you fab posts – I missed the blogging world!
Still, saying goodbye to Summer is so hard and I have to admit I have a serious case of holiday blues. It will go away, I know. Meanwhile I decided that the best way to share my holidays with you would be to put together a quick post showing you my favourite things/moments. So, here goes.
I know for most of you it’s probably been summer for a while but for us here in Brighton it’s been more like spring/fall with a dash of summer now and then. However, I am going on holidays in a week and a half (can’t wait!!) so I’ve put together my reading wishlist *.*
Now even though I imagine myself chilling in the shade going through all these books I probably won’t get to read all of them as I’m going to Cape Verde and have a lot of catching up with friends and family to do. However I rather take more than not have enough to keep me going. Also – I love making lists!
I know I haven’t posted anything for so long and I do apologise! I have not quit the blogging world I promise (I would never leave you!) – I just haven’t had the time (or motivation, to be honest) to post. On the bright side I’m going on holidays soon so will have loads of fun new posts for you when I am back so stay tuned.
Here’s a quick review of what’s been up lately:
About 4 years ago I moved to Brighton to do my Masters at Sussex University. Fast forward almost two years and I’m still here, working and living by the sea. There have been times when I’ve thought Brighton is too small and I needed to explore somewhere new but the truth is Brighton has a special little place in my heart. I don’t plan on staying here forever but when I leave I’m going to miss it – and this is why:
