Ah Paris…I couldn’t have a blog and not post about this city and it’s little magical wonders. As it’s one of the most visited cities in the world, everyone knows the main places to go to (Eiffel tower, Arc de Triomphe, Champs Elysee, etc.) but I’m going to share with you my own personal list of favourite places and things to do. I believe Paris should be visited at least once and trust me, it’s hard not to love this place.
Dinner at Pain, Vin, Fromage
This is my favourite restaurant in Paris so far. Reasons? The food, the decor, the staff and the wine! It’s very rustic and beautifully decorated which provides a lovely cozy environment. More importantly, the food is absolutely amazing. We had cheese fondue (just remembering makes me smile) and a selection of hams. However, it’s important to bare in mind that it’s hard to find a great meal in Paris without spending a small fortune. This restaurant, like many other good ones, is not cheap. It is however worth the money!
If you have time you should stop by Galeries Lafayette and treat yourself to something a little bit more expensive. If you book in advance you can also watch a free fashion show (not amazing but still fun!) of their most recent collection. But more importantly, go to the last floor – the view of Paris is beautiful!
Paris smells of crepes! They are delicious and are made right in front of you in about 5 mins. You can find them anywhere and chose from a range of toppings (they all look amazing). You cannot leave Paris without trying them!
One of my favourite places in Paris is Montmartre. It is just gorgeous. The streets are filled with artists (don’t miss the opportunity to get painted by one of them) and make you feel as if you were in a French movie. Don’t forget to go to Sacre Coeur while you are there! The view from Sacre Coeur is amazing.
You can find these delicious french sweets in almost every cafe. After a long day of sight seeing there is nothing better than sitting in a typical french cafe and having macarron and tea. They are pillowy soft and there are so many flavors to choose from! Eiffel tower at night
You cannot leave Paris without having breakfast in a french cafe! I tried many different cafes and was never disappointed. Eat the french croissants with jam, the freshly baked baguettes or any french patisserie (like the delicious pain au chocolat!). Burn it off by walking around Montmartre afterwards! 🙂
Of course there are many other amazing places to go to in Paris – like the Louvre, the Musée d’Orsay, the beautiful Champs Elysee or the Luxembourg Gardens. I too visited the historical sights and went to some of the greatest museums in Paris but the above things are the things I absolutely love and are not in every travel book you pick up.
So go, enjoy and fall in love with Paris ♥
